Reset - How and why do we cleanse our body from the inside?

What does “detoxification” actually mean?

Detoxification is used as an umbrella term for all detoxification methods. This means that a colon cleanse is a detox, a deacidification is a detox, a juice cleanse is a detox, a fasting cleanse, a lymphatic cleanse, and even a detoxification. However, it's important to note that the term itself is often viewed with skepticism in the medical and scientific community. The human body has efficient mechanisms for detoxification, particularly through organs such as the liver and intestines. However, there are several reasons why people choose to undergo such a detoxification.

Reduction of toxins: Modern lifestyles can lead to an increase in environmental toxins, whether through air pollution, pesticides or other pollutants.

Weight loss: This may be due to the reduction of water and glycogen stores and not necessarily to a sustained reduction in fat.

Increased well-being: People often report increased well-being and more energy after a detox treatment.

More conscious nutrition: A detox program can serve as a starting point for a healthier and balanced diet.

Reducing inflammation: Some foods recommended in detox programs have anti-inflammatory properties. This can be beneficial for people with inflammatory diseases.

Each of these detoxification methods can remove toxins. But what exactly are "toxins"?

  • Poisons
  • Acids
  • Salts (which can become deposits, e.g. in kidney and gallstones or in the blood vessels)
  • Metabolic waste products of all kinds
  • excess hormones, minerals and vitamins
  • Fecal stones
  • harmful bacteria
  • Gases from the intestines
  • dead fungi and fungal toxins and much more

Of course, detoxification doesn't just remove toxins. Many other goals can also be achieved. The affected organs are relieved, cared for, and regenerated so they can function better and more vigorously. In addition, the body is supplied with missing vital nutrients that enable it to function normally in the first place.

Reasons for detoxification

There are numerous reasons why a detox program can be beneficial. These include:

  • Strengthening the immune system
  • More well-being (physical and mental) and energy
  • A better skin appearance
  • Weight loss
  • Health prophylaxis
  • Relief and cleansing of organs

"Loosen & Binde" - The two-component program from Dr. Niedermaier®

We at Dr. Niedermaier Pharma have developed a holistic two-component program that effectively cleanses the body according to the principle of “loosening and binding.”

  • Choline contributes to normal lipid metabolism and the maintenance of healthy liver function .
  • Vitamins B1, B3, B6 and B12 contribute to the normal functioning of the nervous system and healthy psychological function.
  • The trace element selenium supports normal thyroid function .
  • Vitamin B5 contributes to normal energy metabolism and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue .

  • For the treatment of impaired barrier function of the intestinal wall (leaky gut).

  • Binds heavy metals* and ammonium in the gastrointestinal tract.

How do I eat properly?

Proper nutrition plays an important role in nourishing the body and cleansing it from within. While the human body has natural detoxification mechanisms, some vitamins and antioxidants also play a role in supporting these processes.

Foods our gut loves

Fiber: Seasonal vegetables, whole grains, legumes or nuts and seeds

Fermented foods: natural yogurt, natural sauerkraut, sourdough bread, kimchi or kombucha

Fruit: apples, pears, kiwis or dried fruit (plums and figs)

Foods our liver loves

Omega-3 fatty acids: oils, nuts or fish

Bitter substances: lamb's lettuce, chicory or grapefruit

Proteins: Eggs, buttermilk or sour cream

These foods can also have a supportive effect during a detox treatment.

Classic everyday addictive substances like sugar, caffeine, alcohol, or cigarettes should, of course, be reduced as much as possible during a detox program. Drinking plenty of fluids is important, however. Two liters of water should be consumed daily to help detoxify.
